2021 Week 4 Predix: Brady Returns to New England

Written by Sam DeCoste The time has finally come. Tom Brady makes his return to Gillette Stadium Sunday night, looking to become the first quarterback in NFL history to defeat all 32 teams, including the franchise he conquered the league with for 20 years. But don't let Bucs-Patriots distract you from a stellar slate of Week 4 games. The Browns take on the Vikings, the undefeated Panthers battle the Cowboys, Andy Reid returns to Philadelphia with the Chiefs to take on the Eagles, and the NFC West splits up for a pair of divisional showdowns between the Cardinals and Rams, and the Seahawks and 49ers. I matched my Predix record from a week ago in Week 3, going 11-5 again. Despite a 31-17 start to the season, I have started 0-3 in my Lock of the Week picks. This is the first season I have ever gone winless for 3 straight weeks in my Locks, never mind to start the season. I have to buck that trend at some point, and what better time to win my first Lock of the Week in October? Keep rea

2021 Week 3 Predix: NFC Battle in San Fran

Courtesy of San Francisco Chronicle Written by Sam DeCoste The 2021 season is already taking shape. Only 7 teams are still unbeaten, including some notable surprises. The Panthers, Broncos, and Raiders are among the squads that won both their opening games, and they each face opportune matchups to extend their undefeated streak to 3-0.  Week 3 is set to kickoff, and there is no shortage of high octane conference matchups. The Packers and 49ers play on Sunday Night Football, while the Chargers visit the Chiefs in the early window, and the Bucs take on the Rams in the late afternoon slate.  Week 2 was easier to read than opening weekend, and it reflected in my Predix. I finished the week 11-5 and even correctly predicted the Bengals to defeat the Bears 20-17 . I was also one point away from notching the Rams-Colts score on the dot, but you can't win them all. The Bengals-Bears game is already in the Scores of Fame , and I already have my sights set on predicting a scoreline exactly c

2021 Week 2 Predix: Mahomes vs Jackson

Courtesy of Associated Press Written by Sam DeCoste Oh football, how we've missed you. The 2021 NFL regular season kicked off in style on Thursday night with a blockbuster showdown that came down to a last-minute comeback from Tom Brady to sit down the Dallas Cowboys. The weekend followed it up with even more thrillers, concluding the Week 1 slate with a Raiders overtime comeback win in front of a sold-out crowd in Las Vegas. Week 1 delivered, and Week 2 is already here. As entertaining as Week 1 was, it was inopportune for my Predix record. Upsets galore only set me behind in my goal to have my most accurate Predix season. I finished the week at 9-7, notably missing the mark on the Bills, Titans, Packers, and Patriots, to name a few. Notably, I opened the season correctly predicting the exact scoreline of the Seahawks-Colts game, 28-16.  That's going in the Scores of Fame .  The Week 2 slate kicks off with an NFC East showdown between the New York Giants and Washington Footbal
