2018 Week 13 Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste December football is here. Byes are over. Now, each team has five games remaining. Five opportunities to win, better their chances of clinching a playoff spot, or maybe even a first round bye. Simply put, it's crunch time.  Week 13 in the NFL has some brilliant fixtures in store for us, starting with a banger on Thursday night, when the Cowboys take on the Saints. Around the league, the Vikings battle the Patriots, the Chargers square off against the Steelers, and a crucial divisional win is up for grabs in Philly when the Redskins take on the Eagles. So without further delay, let's see who will win in Week 13. Carry on, and enjoy the Predix! Here are my season records: Lock of the Week record: 8-4 Last week's record: 12-3 Regular season record: 116-58-2  NO @ DAL While the Cowboys come in with three straight wins, the Saints visit Jerry's World after ripping off ten on the trot. To beat the Saints, Dallas will have to score j

Week 13 Power Rankings: Thanksgiving in Review

Written by Ben Slavin Multiple late game-winning field goals highlighted the Week 12 action. A few rivalries were renewed and one game was intense enough for an all-out brawl. While there were a lot of fun games this week, many fans likely missed having two of the most explosive teams in the league play. Scheduling the Rams and Chiefs for the same bye week was an unfortunate coincident for the league. Spoiler alert: a bye week didn’t affect either team’s ranking.  Real quick, let’s reiterate. Now that we’re into the season, teams will move up or down a lot based on trades, injuries, or big wins or losses. Who the opponent was, how close of a game it was, and in general how good the team looked will be considered more than just getting the victory. 32. Arizona Cardinals (2-9, Same) It looks like Arizona have firmly cemented themselves as the worst team in the league. A loss to their top competitor in the Raiders followed by a horrific showing will do it. The Cardinals were pulling

2018 Week 12 Predix

Ricky Carioti/The Washington Post Written by Sam DeCoste We have reached Thanksgiving! Off the field, it's an opportunity to eat up, sit back, relax, and be grateful for our blessings. On the field, it's the turn of the season, where the contenders are separated from the pretenders, where wins are most valued and hardest earned, and when the season really gets interesting. Thanksgiving of course always provides us with three games on Thursday. This year, the holiday slate includes Bears-Lions, Falcons-Saints, but most significantly, a classic rivalry matchup between the Redskins and Cowboys, with first place at stake in the NFC East. We also have Seahawks-Panthers, Dolphins-Colts, and Titans-Texans to tune into this weekend. Now it's time to project who will win this weekend. Carry on, and enjoy the predictions!  Here are my season records: Lock of the Week record: 7-4 Last week's record: 6-7 Regular season record: 104-55-2  CHI @ DET This was supposed to

Week 12 Power Rankings: Game of the...Ever?

Written by Ben Slavin Week 12 couldn’t have been much better. There were close games everywhere, even if there were only a couple matchups of good teams. Then Monday night, the Rams and Chiefs blew the roof off the LA Coliseum. Diehard and casual fans alike enjoyed that game. There were over 1,000 yards of offense, 95 points scored, three defensive touchdowns, and many of the best players at their positions. The only people who didn’t enjoy that game are football ‘purists’ who in between sips from their oxygen tanks complain about how much better the league used to be. Real quick let’s reiterate. Now that we’re into the season, teams will move up or down a lot based on trades, injuries, or big wins or losses. Who the opponent was, how close of a game it was, and in general how good the team looked will be considered more than just getting the victory. 32. Arizona Cardinals (2-8, Down 2) The positive for Arizona is they’ve figured out how to use David Johnson. The negative (of wh
