Despite what you may hear from the players and coaches, this is not just like any other game. A championship is up for grabs in Atlanta this Sunday. It doesn't get any bigger than the Super Bowl. Before I begin to break down the Rams and Patriots going into the Super Bowl, I want to take a moment to thank you. Thank you for reading Franchise Quarterback all season long. Greatest Upsets in Super Bowl History

Written by Sam DeCoste As the Rams and Patriots prepare for their matchup in Super Bowl LIII, I wanted to find a way to look back on the previous 52 Super Bowls, and break down the best stories in the game's history. Last year, I ranked the ten best Super Bowls ever . This year, I thought it would be fitting to rank the best five upsets in Super Bowl history. And there was no shortage of options to choose from to rank on this list. So without further delay, enjoy my list of the 5 Greatest Upsets in Super Bowl History! #5: Super Bowl XXV Buffalo Bills 19, New York Giants 20 Yes, once upon a time, the Buffalo Bills were good. They went to four straight Super Bowls from 1990-1993, but sadly lost each one. On their first trip to the big game, the Bills were a good bet to walk away with their first Super Bowl win. In 1990, the Bills offense was a juggernaut. One of the greatest units in NFL history, at that. They scored over 500 points during the regular s

2018 NFL Awards: Who Deserves the Hardware

Written by Ben Slavin Earlier in the season, I predicted who would win each major award. With just a week to go before they are announced, most awards seem like a foregone conclusion. So, this time, I will be giving honors to those who truly deserve it. Too often in the media, players with the biggest names and on the best teams get the attention over those who actually make the biggest impacts.  Comeback Player of the Year Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts Coming back after a nearly two year hiatus, Luck led a team that went 4-12 without him to the divisional round of the playoffs. Unflustered by a 1-5 start, Luck helped the team rattle off 9 wins in 10 games. His totals of nearly 4,600 yards and 39 touchdowns are fit for MVP consideration, not just Comeback Player of the Year. This might be one of the few cases where nice guys don’t finish last. Other candidates: J.J. Watt, DE, Houston Texans Before slowing down toward the end of the year, Watt seemed like one of

From St. Louis to Atlanta: The Return of the LA Rams

Photo from Washington Post Written by Sam DeCoste The Los Angeles Rams are one win away from reaching the pinnacle of sports. After a 26-23 overtime victory against the New Orleans Saints, the Rams are NFC Champions, and they will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII. It marks the Rams’ fourth Super Bowl appearance after a stellar 13-3 season led by the youngest head coach ever to coach in the Super Bowl, Sean McVay, who turns 33 years old on January 24. Reaching the Super Bowl is always an accomplishment for any team, but especially for the Rams, considering where they were not too long ago. As the Rams begin their preparations for New England, I thought it would be fitting to look back on what has been a remarkable journey for the Rams, starting as bottom feeders and ending as juggernauts. Franchise Talents The construction of the star studded Rams roster traces back four years, back to the 2014 NFL Draft. With the thirteenth pick, Rams General Manager Les Snead se

2018 Conference Weekend Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste For four teams, the Super Bowl awaits. It's Championship Weekend in the NFL, which means two teams will be walking away with hardware, conference championship trophies, as well as Super Bowl berths. In the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams visit the New Orleans Saints for one spot, and the New England Patriots will take on the Kansas City Chiefs for the second ticket to Super Bowl LIII. Both matchups are rematches from earlier this season, in which the teams combined to score 163 points in the previous matchups.  For the first time in NFL history, the four highest scoring offenses reached the Conference Championship. Without a doubt, the four best teams remain, and two will be returning to the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is almost upon us, and we have two great games of football coming our way this Sunday! So without any further delay, let's see who's going to the Super Bowl! Carry on, and enjoy the Predix! Here are my records from the 2018 regular

2018 Divisional Round Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste There may not be a better week of football throughout the season than the Divisional Round. Only eight teams remain, all of which deserve to still be alive, and four great games on slate for us. And in a wide open season where the Lombardi is there for the taking, every playoff team remaining can begin to dream about winning it all. Divisional Weekend begins with firecrackers in Kansas City, where the Colts battle the Chiefs. It concludes with an Eagles-Saints rematch in NOLA, with Cowboys-Rams and Chargers-Patriots sandwiched in between. It's gonna be a brilliant weekend of football, and there's no time to waste! Who will move on to the NFL's Final Four? Find out in the Divisional Weekend Predix! Carry on, and enjoy! Here are my records from the 2018 season: Lock of the Week record: 11-6 Last week's record: 1-3 Regular season record: 167-87-2 Postseason record: 1-3 The Road to Super Bowl LIII Bracket presented by Franchise Quarterba
