2018 Week 9 Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste There are no shortage of must-see matchups in the NFL this week. While the Jaguars, Eagles, Bengals, Cardinals, Giants, and Colts take the week off, there are 13 games to talk about. The Steelers and Ravens renew their classic rivalry for AFC North bragging rights, the Saints and Rams battle in a possible NFC Championship preview, and two of the greatest players ever, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, battle in New England this week. So without any further delay, let's get right to it! Here are my season records:  Lock of the W eek record: 6-2 Last week's record: 12-2 Regular season record: 79-40-2  OAK @ SF Both teams have been terrible this season. Each enters Thursday night with one win on their record. But one team will win their second game of the year, and I lean towards the home side. CJ Beathard is finding rhythm with his receivers, especially Marquise Goodwin, and they should tear apart the Raiders secondary....

Week 9 Power Rankings: Crazy Trade Deadline Looming?

Written by Ben Slavin It seems the NFL has finally settled down. The top ten teams in the league are solidifying their spots while the bottom five are doing the same. The worst teams in the league have started selling off spare parts to build for the future. On the other side, the contenders of the league are happy to pick these players up at discounted values. There’s reports this could be the craziest trade deadline in years, so enjoy these pre-trade rankings. Real quick let’s reiterate. Now that we’re into the season, teams will move up or down a lot based on trades, injuries, or big wins or losses. Who the opponent was, how close of a game it was, and just in general how good the team looked will be considered more than just getting the victory. 32. San Francisco 49ers (1-7, Same) For the second time in four weeks, the 49ers proved they are the worst team in the league. Arizona is awful and they handled San Francisco once again. Let’s stay positive, though. If the 49ers draft ...

2018 Week 8 Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste The 2018 NFL season continues this week, with no shortage of blockbuster clashes. As the Cowboys, Chargers, Titans, and Falcons take the week off, all is to play for. The Eagles and Jaguars look for a crucial win as they go head to head in London, the Browns and Steelers rematch in Pittsburgh after tying Week 1, the Packers battle the Rams in a Hollywood showdown, and the Saints and Vikings face off for the first time since Stefon Diggs scored a walkoff touchdown last postseason.   So without any further delay, let's get right to it! Here are my season records:  Lock of the W eek record: 5-2 Last week's record: 11-3 Regular season record: 67-38-2  MIA @ HOU Since charging out of the gates at 3-0, the Dolphins have stumbled, losing three of their last four. It doesn't get any easier for them this week, facing the AFC South leading Texans. Unlike Miami, they started from rock bottom, winles...

Week 8 Power Rankings: Misery Loves Company

Written by Ben Slavin Fans of many teams rode an emotional roller coaster this week. There were five games where teams had the opportunity to win or tie in the final two minutes and couldn’t pull it off. Many of those were due to the continuation of a league-wide kicking epidemic while we also saw a near Hail Mary as time expired, a turnover on downs, and a failed two point conversion for the win. Outside of those, Cleveland played another overtime game and Buffalo went back to their blowout (loss) ways. And for the first time all season seemingly, the best teams were largely able to avoid large upsets. Let the rankings commence. Real quick, let’s reiterate. Now that we’re into the season, teams will move up or down a lot based on trades, injuries, or big wins or losses. Who the opponent was, how close of a game it was, and just in general how good the team looked will be considered more than just getting the victory. 32. San Francisco 49ers (1-6, Same) A week after giving the Pack...
