2017 Week 9 Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste

The second half of the season is already upon us! This week, plenty of teams could be closer to stamping tickets to the postseason, while plenty of teams will deal significant blows to their chances of making it into the dance. It begins in a big AFC East battle on Thursday Night Football, when the Buffalo Bills go up against the New York Jets, and it concludes when the Detroit Lions look to spoil Brett Hundley's second career start on Monday Night Football. There are six teams on bye this week, but there are twenty-six teams that are still playing, so let's pick the games! Let's get it!

My overall record last week: 11-2

Lock of the Week record: 7-1

My overall season record: 77-42

The Bills are riding high with momentum coming into this game, and I like them to keep it going.

Prediction: BUF 24, NYJ 16

As if the Eagles weren't already favorites at home, but now Brock Osweiler is starting at quarterback for Denver? Forget it.

Prediction: DEN 13, PHI 23

It's an odd week, so the Jags will win. No questions asked.

Prediction: CIN 6, JAX 27

It's not 2016 anymore, and the Falcons offense won't be able to move the ball on Carolina's defense if anything we've seen so far has any meaning.

Prediction: ATL 20, CAR 21

It's the False Hope Bowl: two teams that realistically won't make the playoffs but will play a game with "playoff implications."

Prediction: BAL 17, TEN 23

Both teams are coming off of a bye, so this should be an entertaining game. Speaking of entertaining, how about that Rams offense?

Prediction: LAR 30, NYG 20

The Saints haven't lost since Week 2. Yes, you read that right. The Bucs haven't won since Week 4. Do the math.

Prediction: TB 15, NO 31

Deshaun Watson is playing at another level, and he is for sure Rookie of the Year, and he will carve the Colts secondary to pieces. Also, I will never bench Deshaun Watson again.

Prediction: IND 19, HOU 35
This is my Lock of the Week

If you like offense, don't watch this game.

Prediction: ARZ 19, SF 14

Russell Wilson really bailed his team out of jail last week, and I think he does it again this week. The Redskins aren't talented enough to win in Seattle.

Prediction: WSH 20, SEA 24

This should be the game of the week, and the Ezekiel Elliott's suspension came at the best time for the Chiefs. But their defense is still giving up tons of yardage.

Prediction: KC 28, DAL 39

This is a must win game for both teams, and I really don't like how either team is playing right now. But the Dolphins are playing at home, and that's good enough for me to pick the Dolphins.

Prediction: OAK 13, MIA 22

The Lions are struggling to score points right now, but the Packers don't have Aaron Rodgers anymore. Until Brett Hundley proves me wrong, I'm going to pick against him every time.

Prediction: DET 20, GB 12
