As each week goes by, I realize more and more why I love sports. If the best team won all the time, then the games would never be played. The theme of the season so far has undoubtably been upsets, and we could absolutely see some more this week. The headline game of the week, without a doubt, is the Super Bowl rematch, between the Falcons and Patriots in Gillette Stadium on Sunday Night Football. The Texans and Lions are on bye, so they can relax this week and watch other teams go at it. If not for all these upsets, maybe my record would be better at predicting games. But when you fail, try and try again the next week. Let's get it!
My overall record last week: 5-9
Lock of the Week record: 5-1
My overall season record: 53-38
I don't think the Raiders are going to be 2-5, but I don't think the Chiefs are going to lose two straight games, so it's really just a roll of the dice here.
Prediction: KC 23, OAK 24
The Rams can't afford to overlook Arizona, Adrian Peterson has given them quite a resurgence offensively.
Prediction: ARZ 24, LAR 30
I don't believe in Brett Hundley, and the Saints defense has been terrific as of late.
Prediction: NO 26, GB 17
Off a bye, the Bills defense should be fresh and ready to go against a desperate Tampa Bay side who have the league's 30th ranked defense.
Prediction: TB 13, BUF 23
The Titans need to be able to win back to back, and the Browns need to be able to win period.
Prediction: TEN 33, CLE 14
This is my Lock of the Week
Seven is an odd number, and that's the week we're at, so that means the Jaguars win this week.
Prediction: JAX 27, IND 16
Last week's comeback victory in Atlanta was frankly shocking, but a loss to the Jets would be even more shocking for the Dolphins.
Prediction: NYJ 16, MIA 20
If you like offense, don't watch this game.
Prediction: BAL 9, MIN 17
This is a big test for Mitchell Trubisky, and the Panthers are still very much in the thick of the NFC playoff race.
Prediction: CAR 20, CHI 14
This whole Ezekiel Elliott scandal is a mess, but they should beat the winless Niners.
Prediction: DAL 24, SF 19
I like the Seahawks coming off of their bye, even though the Giants played really well in Denver.
Prediction: SEA 26, NYG 21
It may be a home game for the Chargers, but Broncos fans will be heard in that soccer stadium.
Prediction: DEN 27, LAC 16
Andy Dalton and the Bengals offense has come back from the dead and they're playing really well of late, and this would be a statement win for them.
Prediction: CIN 28, PIT 30
The Falcons are in Super Bowl form, blowing a 17 point lead last week. If they have a lead in this game, the Internet is bound to explode.
Prediction: ATL 31, NE 34
I love the Eagles right now, but they've struggled against the Redskins recently. They better get it done to show the league that they are for real.
Prediction: WSH 19, PHI 23
