2018 Week 15 Predix

Photo taken by USA Today Written by Sam DeCoste With three weeks to go, and some shocking upsets in Week 14, there is still so much to play for, and so much to possibly clinch in Week 15. We could see division titles, first round byes, and playoff spots be clinched this weekend. The playoff picture could also be completely flipped upside down with some more upsets, and it is not out of the question certainly on Thursday night, when the Chargers battle the Chiefs in the biggest game of each team's season. The NFL is also providing us with Saturday football once again, with Texans-Jets and Browns-Broncos. But the best entertainment still comes to our screens on Sunday, when the Cowboys take on the Colts, the Eagles battle the Rams on Sunday night, and when the Patriots and Steelers match up in what has been an entertaining rivalry for many years. With so much to discuss here in Week 15, let's just get right to it! Carry on, and enjoy the Predix! Here are my season recor...

Week 15 Power Rankings: Curses

Photo by Jasen Vinlove/USA Today Sports Written by Ben Slavin Week 14 brought the opportunity for multiple all-time great quarterbacks to end their troubles against frequent road opponents. Tom Brady hates Miami, Ben Roethlisberger fears for his life in Oakland, and Drew Brees drowns in the swamps of Tampa Bay. Only one of the three were able to break the curse. Elsewhere, Derrick Henry went for the single-game rushing yardage and touchdown records and multiple games went down to the wire. Hopefully everybody is excited for the last few weeks of regular season football and the start of Saturday games. Real quick let’s reiterate. Now that we’re into the season, teams will move up or down a lot based on trades, injuries, or big wins or losses. Who the opponent was, how close of a game it was, and in general how good the team looked will be considered more than just getting the victory. 32. Arizona Cardinals (3-10, Down 2) The Cardinals defense was absolutely dominant and they still l...

2018 Week 14 Predix

Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images Written by Sam DeCoste As the NFL season continues in December, some teams will look towards 2019, while others are beginning to think what could be, come a month from now.   This is the time of year where wins are most valuable, and also where jobs can be kept or lost.  Here in Week 14, there are ten wild card positions open for the taking for teams ranging from 7-5 to 6-6, while seven teams are fighting for a first round bye in the playoffs.  There is no shortage of must see matchups in Week 14, beginning with a crucial Colts-Texans game in Houston, where Indy needs to bounce back, and Houston looks to continue their unprecedented winning streak. Lamar Jackson takes the Ravens into Kansas City looking for his fourth straight win, the Vikings and Seahawks battle for a crucial NFC victory on Monday night, while the Rams and Bears square off in a blockbuster Sunday night showdown. With so much to look forward to t...

Week 14 Power Rankings: Good Old Fashioned Football

Photo by Justin K. Aller/Getty Images  Written by Ben Slavin The story of the year has been the offensive explosion. In a refreshing change of pace, this week had only a few shootouts and a bunch of close, low-scoring games. We’re used to seeing teams total over 500 yards, not struggle to hit 200 as many did this week. And I have to say I like this style of football, where every touchdown feels meaningful, more than the defenseless one. If it’s not your favorite, don’t worry. The NFL will definitely come up with some new rules to hamper defenses after a low-scoring week like this. Without further ado, come find out which teams performed well during this old-timey week.  Real quick, let’s reiterate. Now that we’re into the season, teams will move up or down a lot based on trades, injuries, or big wins or losses. Who the opponent was, how close of a game it was, and in general how good the team looked will be considered more than just getting the victory. ...
