Monday Hangover: Analyzing a Dull Week 2 in the NFL

Written by Sam DeCoste It was great to see the NFL come back last week. Now, it is already overstaying its welcome. Week 2 saw plenty of intriguing matchups with potential for great entertainment, but each and every one of them failed to live up to the hype.  In this edition of the Monday Hangover, we will recap the main storylines of Week 2 in the 2017 NFL season. Denver's Defense Shuts Down Dallas One of the marquee matchups going into Week 2 was undoubtably Dallas going to Denver. The last time these two teams played, Peyton Manning and the Broncos triumphed over the Cowboys in Jerry's World 51-48, despite Tony Romo's career performance, throwing for 506 yards and 5 touchdowns. This week, it was Dak Prescott versus Trevor Siemian. Siemian led the Broncos down the field time and time again, and had no problem moving the ball against the Dallas defense. Siemian threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns against one of the league's best scoring defense...

2017 Week 2 Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste Week 2 kicks off on Thursday night as the Texans square off in Cincinnati against the Bengals, with plenty of amazing games to tune into over the weekend. The Saints welcome the Pats, the Broncos host Dallas, and the Lions visit the Giants to end the week. Look no further than right here to find out who wins each and every game. However, I admit, I did not predict every game correctly last week. But that is what the next week is for, right? Let's do this! My record last week: 11-4 Lock of the Week record: 1-0 My overall season record: 11-4 This is traditional Thursday Night Football-two teams who lost the previous week in dreadful fashion and look to "get back in the hunt." This matchup is more intriguing now that Deshaun Watson is making his first career start. Both teams lost pretty badly last week, as Houston was obliterated on offense against the Jaguars, and Cincinnati did not as much as score at all in a 20-0 shu...

Monday Hangover: Week 1 Analysis

Written by Sam DeCoste The NFL is back. Sundays are once again for football. After 214 days since the last professional game, Super Bowl LI, we can enjoy regular season football and watch NFL Red Zone again. I hope you all enjoyed the games as much as I did. We will have a segment every week called the Monday Hangover, which recaps the top stories of the NFL weekend. I hope you enjoy. Falcons Hold On For Dear Life The game of the week has to be the Falcons-Bears game. I predicted this to be a Falcons win by a score of 24-16 in my Week 1 Predix, and the final score was 23-17 Falcons. Not bad, huh? Neither was the game. If you started Austin Hooper in your fantasy league, you're loving it. I played Devonta Freeman and he did just enough for me. In terms of real football, the league's highest scoring offense last season got off to a slow start in Chicago. It took time for them to get back into the clockwork-like rhythm they are capable of reaching. I am not going to ...

2017 Week 1 Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste It has been a long wait. But it is finally here. NFL football returns this Thursday, as the Patriots drop their fifth Super Bowl banner as they host the Chiefs to kickoff a new season. As the season goes, I will post a Predix page every week before the first game on Thursday night, predicting the results and scorelines of each and every one of the 256 regular season games, as well as ten playoff games and the Super Bowl. It all begins here with Week 1. Here we go. Will your team win in Week 1?  Kansas City Chiefs @ New England Patriots I'm not very optimistic that we will get a very entertaining game to open the season if that's what you're hoping. The Patriots have loaded up this offseason and they are ready to defend their title this season. There is buzz about a potential undefeated season, and you better believe it is a real possibility that it will happen. At least if you're the Chiefs, you can get the Patriots game out of the...
