Super Bowl LII Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste I do not need to write about what the Super Bowl means to the Philadelphia Eagles or the New England Patriots. It doesn’t get any bigger than this. This is where legends are made. The Super Bowl is what the Franchise Quarterback Football Blog was made for: games like this, giving us an opportunity to analyze two football teams going head to head, and determine which has the edge over the other. So let’s get right into it. Who will win Super Bowl LII? My overall record last round: 2-0 Lock of the Week record: 14-3 note: Lock of the Week is over until the 2018 regular season My overall regular season record: 174-82 My overall postseason record: 6-4 Public Service Announcement First of all, I would just like to say to all of the haters who make fun of the Eagles and all of the pundits who comment that the Eagles have never won a Super Bowl - shut up. They will play in the fifty-second edition of the Super Bowl, but the NFL has existe...

2017 Conference Weekend Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste It is the penultimate week of the NFL season. By Sunday night, we will know who will play for the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl LII. Two teams will win and advance to the big game. But two other teams will be going home, and wondering what could have been. The worst week to lose during the entire NFL season is the Conference Championship, as it is the closest game to the Super Bowl, and there is nothing like playing in a Super Bowl. New England, Jacksonville, Minnesota, and Philadelphia will all play for the rights to play in the Super Bowl this weekend. Are you ready? My overall record last week: 2-2 Lock of the Week record: 14-3 note: Lock of the Week is over until the 2018 regular season My overall regular season record: 174-82 My overall postseason record: 4-4 Jaguars @ Patriots This is some matchup. Arguably the best offense in the league squares up with the best defense in the league for a ticket to the Super Bowl. We sh...

2017 Divisional Weekend Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste Is it the Super Bowl yet? Welp. But the Super Bowl is now in sight for the eight teams remaining. Atlanta, Jacksonville, Minnesota New England, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Tennessee all still have a chance of going to Super Bowl LII. But with the big game just over three weeks away, there is still work to do. So enough talk. Let's predict football! My overall record last week: 2-2 Lock of the Week record: 14-3 note: Lock of the Week is over until the 2018 regular season My overall regular season record: 174-82 My overall postseason record: 2-2 Falcons @ Eagles The Eagles do have home field advantage throughout the playoffs for a reason. That would be Carson Wentz. He’s been out since Week 14. Since he’s left, Nick Foles has significantly underperformed the expectations everybody had when they thought about his 2013 season where he threw 27 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. He’s playing a tea...

2017 Wild Card Weekend Predix

Written by Sam DeCoste Playoffs? Yes, it's playoff time! No more talking about the winless Browns, or the uninspiring Lions, or the Ezekiel Elliott-less Dallas Cowboys. Only the best teams remain. Here in Wild Card Weekend, there are plenty of new faces, and plenty of exciting games to pay attention to. If the fairytale Buffalo Bills don't get you excited, then you ought to love the showdown in Los Angeles on Saturday night, between the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams. So enough talk, it's time for playoff football! Let's predict the games! My overall record last week: 9-7 Lock of the Week record: 14-3 note: Lock of the Week is over until the 2018 regular season My overall regular season record: 174-82 (67.9% winning percentage) Titans @ Chiefs Most neutrals did not want to see Tennessee in the playoffs. Welp. They have a tough test in front of them. Kansas City has the fifth best offense in the league, picking up 375 ...

Playoff Power Rankings: Can a Wild Card Team Win the Super Bowl?

Written by Ben Slavin The regular season is over, and all eyes are set on Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis in only five weeks. Twelve teams remain standing, all fighting for the right to play in that game. But do you really have a chance of winning the Super Bowl as a wild card team? Or if you clinched a bye, does getting a week off really help you get to the big game? Well, the NFL Playoffs are a different animal. It's a new season. It's put up or shut up time for the Bills, Chiefs, Eagles, Falcons, Jaguars, Panthers, Patriots, Rams, Saints, Steelers, Titans, and Vikings. Here, we tell you who has the best odds at winning Super Bowl LII through the NFL Playoffs.  1. New England Patriots This is probably the most mortal the Patriots have looked in a while. Their front seven has seemingly lost all of its talent to questionable free-agent decisions and injuries. The o-line still isn’t great and will likely struggle greatly to teams with great defe...
